Addressing gender inequities in health workforce education
Gender inequities abound in health workforce education around the globe. These range from policies and practices that limit employment opportunities for women, their full and equal participation, gender related salary disparities to bottlenecks in career progression. Women also face challenges related to combining career and childrearing, sexual and gender-related harassment, violence, and discrimination in workplace cultures that mirror dominant societal norms and values. Transformation of health workforce education environments requires intervention on multiple levels. This is a shared space for those interested in addressing these challenges can share resources, ideas and collaborate on activities to address them.
