There is growing demand for clinical and teaching experiences in general practice. Vertical integration in teaching, involving all learner stages, can reduce time demands and stress on general practitioners, enhance teaching skills for GP registrars, and improve medical students’ learning experiences. This study examines the advantages and barriers of vertical integration and presents focus group discussions with general practice principals and registrars. Further research is recommended to explore the feasibility of vertical integration to enhance teaching capacity in general practice.
